» Establish
     Set up in August 1971, the Information and Networking Center now has eight rooms providing access to international academic networks, which offer LCD monitors. There is also a room for storing school servers and servers that support Information and Networkingization of school administration and teaching, such asDNS servers, WWW servers, and anti-virus servers. In addition, there is web equipment.

» Main Functions
     The main functions of the Information and Networking Center are:
  • the assessment and suggestions of Information and Networking software and hardware in each department and section of the School;
  • the management and maintenance of Information and Networking labs for general courses;
  • the planning and promotion of the school administration information system;
  • the planning, promotion and resource management of campus web;
  • supporting the teaching and research of Information and Networking-related courses;
  • offering Information and Networking training courses;
  • the maintenance of Information and Networking equipment and the use and management of appliances and materials.

» The Role of Information Center
     The school is equipped with Intranet. All departments and sections of the School have gradually been Information and Networkingized and equipped with webs. The Information and Networking Center is responsible for the school information system and plays the role of “Information Center”.
     In recent years, The Center has actively promoted the legalization of software and established non-synchronous on-line teaching system to support teaching and meet future demands. In addition, one of the most important tasks of the Center is to promote the quality and efficiency of the network.
     At present, the backbone networks of the School are fiber-optic networks. There are one T3 network, one 1.5M ADSL network, and two 512K ADSL networks connected to the outside. The server load balance mechanism is used, and the bandwidth of the networks is continuing to be widened.
